Science 8 - Explore The Planets
Your Mission
....one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Neil. Armstrong, 7/20/69, First Man on the Moon

The Journey........
Get ready! You are minutes away from Blast Off! This journey will take you to the all the objects in our Solar System.  Your mission?  You are to embark on a fact finding tour of the planets, their moons, the Sun, comets, and asteroids.  You are required to gather as much information/data as you can (don't forget to take pictures!) and return home to share what you have learned.  Remember, you will be on this journey for 10 years so make sure you pack enough stuff. (pencils, erasers, paper, etc)  All the rest is taken care of for you.  So...sit back, relax, and let's begin the countdown.  5...4...3...2...1...Ignition!  Blast Off!!

Now What?
This is the fun part! You will be using only the Internet to assist you with your mission! I have provided many web sites for you to get started.  Feel free to go off on your own to other web sites that you may have discovered.  Once there, determine what information is important to your data collection, what information is not, and be sure to take accurate notes.  Also, there may be links to other sites on these web pages.  Click on them.  Explore. You may be surprised at what you discover!  When you have completed your journey, you will know many interesting and exciting facts about our Solar System. Not only that, but you will get to share your new found knowledge with your fellow astronauts!  Here are three links to cool web sites about the Solar System to get you started.  Start clicking!!
