Instructional Objectives

 
  • Children will  find the area of a square given the standard mathematical formula
  • Children will  find the area of a rectangle given the standard mathematical formula.

  •      Given a teacher made test on area of a triangle, square, rectangle students will demonstrate 70% accuracy, the other 30% of the students will create an intervention practice test in order to bring them up .

EXAMPLE

Square 10 inches wide by 5 inches long 

10 IN. X 5 IN.= 50 SQ. IN.
 
 
 
 

Culminating Activity

1.    square measures 10 inches by 10 inches

       10 in. x 10 in. equals area

2.    rectangle measures 28 inches by 32 

       28 in. x 32 in. equals area

3.     square measures 250 inches by 250

        250 in. by 250 in. equals area

4.     rectangle measures 300 inches by 20 in.

         300 in. by 20 in. equals area

5.     square measures 12 inches by 12 in.
