Progress Report Meeting Checklist
The
time has come to begin preparing for your face-to-face meeting with your client.
In order to ensure a satisfactory performance on your part, I have jotted
down a few notes for your meeting.
Participation
- Work to ensure that all team members play an active role in this meeting.
Employees who sit by quietly and let others do the talking are sure to
make the client uncomfortable.
Knowledge
- In an ideal world, every member of your team should be able to answer any
question asked about the portfolio, however if this isn’t possible, you should
make sure that you do have specialists assigned to each stock.
Avoid having one person deliver all the information or answer all the
questions.
Quick
Thinking
- Your client will be looking closesly to see how well you all think on your
feet! Be prepared for any possible
questions relating to the investments.
Preparation
- The more effort and time you spend preparing for this meeting, the better
it will go. Your client will be VERY disappointed if it looks like you
haven’t spent any time putting all this together.
Visual
Elements
- Use technology as much as possible in your presentation. Hand sketched overheads or posters have no place in this
meeting.
Team
Appearance
- Don’t underestimate the importance of putting on a suit and tie or nice
dress for a meeting of this caliber. Your
client expects to see professionals in the room.
Creativity
- Be creative in your presentation. Create
an ambiance that is both comfortable and professional.
Props can be a big part of a meeting like this.
Details
- Beware of the small things. Name
tags, hand shakes, introductions, background of employees, goals
and philosophy of the company, and plans for the future are all essential
elements which should not be overlooked.
Time
- Remember, this is a planned twenty (20) minute presentation.
Use your time wisely. Rehearse
so that you can use the time well.
This is your
chance to RAZZLE DAZZLE your client. Don’t
take anything for granted. Check
and double check all disks, learn
your data, and most importantly, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!!
Good luck on this part of the project
